[219] Neutron Spectrum Import and Models
Import neutron spectra from other software into Space Radiation.
Use any neutron spectrum, including sample reactor, research, and weapons spectra,
for total dose and single-event upset calculations.
This package contains two modules for creating neutron spectra within
Space Radiation. The spectra may then be used in other Space Radiation
functions including neutron-induced single event upsets.
- Neutron Import
- Use this function to import neutron spectra from any source,
natural or artificial.
- Neutron Spectrum Models
- This function creates a variety of neutron spectrum models, including
reactor spectra, research sources (Cf-252, Pu-Be, etc.), and weapons. You
supply the integrated neutron fluence (neutrons/cm²) scale factor. Additional
models may be added in the future.
The import function provides options that will simplify the
import procedure and increase its utility:
- Files may be either integral or binned (histogram)
spectra.
- A conversion factor is provided for translating your fluence units into neutrons/cm².
- A conversion factor is provided for translating your energy units into MeV.
- Optional mission duration may be specified.
