[213] Enhanced Heavy Ion Functions
This package includes modules enhancing the
heavy ion environment and transport models in Space Radiation. It is
required for utilizing future heavy ion models.
This package consists of four modules.
- CREME (1984)
- The original CREME (Cosmic Ray Effects on Microelectronics) models
organized according to the original M interplanetary weather condition
numbers.
- SPACERAD (1990)
- The heavy ion models from Space Radiation reorganized to let you
create directly each environment at the spacecraft orbit. These
are somewhat improved versions of the CREME (1984) models.
- Layered Heavy-Ion Transport
- Transport heavy-ion spectra through various materials of any thickness.
The input and output files are identical so that you can run as many layers
of shielding as desired.
- Transport directly to LET Spectrum
- Transport heavy ion environments through shielding to get directly an
LET spectrum for use in single-event effects rates computations. This
avoids saving the intermediate (and lengthy) transported energy spectrum.
This package is a required upgrade for those wanting to utilize future
heavy ion environment models including
[214] Solar Heavy Ions (MACREE)
and
[223] Solar Heavy Ions (CHIME).
