[205] Dose-Depth Functions

Compute total dose versus aluminum shielding thickness curves for solar proton, trapped proton, and trapped electron environments. Combine with any shielding distribution to determine dose inside a complex geometry.

This package includes four modules for performing dose-depth computations and computing dose within complex geometries.

Three modules compute dose-depth curves for trapped protons, trapped electrons, and solar protons. If you need a dose-depth curve, these modules simplify the project tremendously. You do not need to create shielding files or compute an LET spectrum. Just specify the range and number of shielding thicknesses you want and Space Radiation computes them all. The figure to the right displays the results of a dose-depth computation for the August 1972 solar event.

The fourth module uses the dose-depth curve and a shielding distribution to compute the dose within a complex geometry. This module is used in conjunction with shielding module packages such as [201] Shell Shielding Distributions.
